According to its own website, the journal is "devoted to the study of Gaelic literature, medieval and modern, Irish and Scottish, as well as to the languages in which that literature is written, and the cultures and histories which give it context." The first volume was edited by Michel Byrne, Thomas Owen Clancy and Roibeard Ó Maolalaigh.
