The story bears no title in the manuscript, but one of [[Medieval Irish tale lists |the Irish tale-lists]] includes the title Aithed Ruithcherne [or Suithcherne] re Cuana mac Cailchine (‘The elopement of Ruithchern/Suithchern with Cuanu mac Cailchine’).

Suithchern also appears as Ruithchern in the tale of her sister Mór of Munster, Mór Muman ocus Aided Cuanach meic Ailchine, and she is mentioned in the Banshenchas.
