*datlā: a bibliography for Celtic studies is a bibliographic database maintained by the A. G. van Hamel Foundation for Celtic Studies. The aim is ultimately to provide an index to scholarly literature on Celtic languages and cultures and on a wide range of Celtic-related topics. At this early stage, however, our principal focus will be on the publications of Dutch scholars in this field and to an extent, on any publications relevant to the *selgā project. It is currently under development, but feel free to take a look around. You will find it located ('off-wiki') at http://www.vanhamel.nl/refbase-0.9.5.

Like *selgā, the bibliography is named for a Proto-Celtic noun, in this case *datlā "meeting, assembly" to evoke the image of many voices of scholarly discourse being brought together in one venue.[1]

This page will report on current progress and on any issues which we have encountered while using the bibliography, such as unsupported characters. There is also a separate page to help editors with their work on the bibliography and to inform them about our manual of style and other guidelines: Help:*datlā.

Current issues

Bibutils

Refbase uses a third-party utility called Bibutils to convert between multiple bibliographic formats (more information here). Unfortunately, the version of Bibutils which is supported by Refbase is not supported by our web server. It is expected that the issue will be solved in the next upgrade of Refbase, but no date has been announced as yet.

Character encoding

There are currently a number of issues with unsupported characters, which are listed below. We are in the process of converting the database to UTF-8 (Unicode), which should solve the problem.
