Description
Abstract (cited)
In Hogan’s Onomasticon and elsewhere, two place name Belach Conglais are noticed, one in Co Wicklow, and the other in south Munster. The origins of the latter are here traced to texts connected with the tenth-century Dál Cais (later Uí Briain) expansion in Munster. It is argued that Baltinglass in Co Wicklow is the only genuine Belach Conglais.
