The final quatrain of the long version of the poem attributes the verse part to úa Duinn (Doáirim úa Duinn duibe), who may be identified with the scholar Gilla na Náem Úa Duinn, fer léiginn of the monastery of Inis Clothrann (Inchcleraun). See notes by Gwynn.
