Date
Binchy suggests a date in the “eighth century or even earlier” (1958: 48), but see Breatnach: “There is, however, nothing here which would compel one to date it to the later eighth century, and the language would be in keeping with a date in the ninth century, or even perhaps as late as the early tenth century” (2005: 316).
