  • Irish annals, Annals
A compilation of annals made in Paris by John O’Conor (Seán Ó Conaire) for John O’Brien (Seán Ó Briain), bishop of Cloyne (d. 1769). The annals run from AD 250 to 1320 and focus on events concerning the province of Munster.
Title
Dublin Annals of Inisfallen
The use of the title Dublin Annals of Inisfallen has its origin in the second volume of Rerum Hibernicarum scriptores veteres (1825) by Charles O’Conor. He distinguishes between the Bodleian Annals of Inisfallen, now simply known as the Annals of Inisfallen proper (preserved in Oxford, Bodleian Library, Rawlinson B 503), and the present compilation (preserved in Dublin, Trinity College, MS 1281). There is no such attribution in the manuscripts.
