Provenance and related aspects
Date
s. viii/ixin
On palaeographical grounds, W. M. Lindsay dates the manuscript to the beginning of the 8th century. Kuno Meyer, who suggests that the Irish glosses are contemporary with the main text, observes a number of late forms (e.g. sodain as opposed to soáin) and on this basis, tentatively argues for a later date, round about the beginning of the 9th century.
Origin, provenance
Ireland? Fulda? (Meyer).
