Ó Cléirigh (Mac Con mac Con Choigcríche)

Irish poet and historian, who was a son of Cú Choigcríche son of Diarmaid son of Tadhg Cam Ó Cléirigh and ollamh to the Uí Dhomhnaill. The AFM laud him for his erudition, eloquence and religious piety.

Lughaidh Ó CléirighÓ Cléirigh (Lughaidh) (c.1580–c.1630) – Irish historian and poet, known best as the author of a ‘biography’ of Aodh Ruadh Ó Domhnaill (Beatha Aodha Ruaidh Uí Dhomhnaill) and as one of the initiators of the ‘Contention of the Bards’; was one of the sons of Mac Con Ó Cléirigh and a cousin of Mícheál Ó Cléirigh.
